CANDLE CARE

A BURN MEMORY – When lighting a soy candle for the first time, allow the wax to melt all the way to the sides of the container. This will give you maximum fragrance and an even burn. If you do not allow the wax to pool on the first burn you may get wax remaining along the sides of your container.

TRIM THE WICK – Soy wax does not burn as hot as paraffin wax, so soy wax candles require a thicker wick, which does not burn 100% and needs to be trimmed regularly. Always trim your wick to about 6-8mm before you re-light your candle. This will ensure a long-lasting candle, minimise soot on the inside of the container and remove any mushrooming of the wick left from the previous burn.

APPEARANCE – Please remember the candles are hand poured, not massed produced. Although all effort is made to ensure consistency, every candle will be different. Do not leave your candle in direct sunlight as it may turn an unpleasant yellow colour. It will not affect the candle in any way, it just loses its creamy whiteness.

WARNING – Failure to follow instructions may result in a fire, hazard or injury. Always keep out of reach of pets and children. Place the candle on a stable, heat resistant surface. Avoid exposure to drafts. Never leave a candle unattended or near anything flammable. Ensure wicks are trimmed and upright and always trim the wick before every burn. Never move a burning candle, the glass will be hot. Never blow out a burning candle – we recommend purchasing a Starlight Wick snuffers to safely extinguish, concluding your ritual candle burn time the traditional way. Wick snuffers are an essential accessory for candle lovers. Stop burning when 10mm of wax is left at the bottom of the glass container. Always store candle in a cool dry place below 25c and away from direct sunlight.
